Surprises await in the pre-dawn darkness.

Paula’s photo, “Fire in the Sky,” photographed pre-dawn, Feb–2004.

Do you ever have one of those mornings when #1) you have to get up earlier than usual, #2) your eyes refuse to focus — on anything, and #3) you feel like you’re stumbling your way through because your brain won’t cooperate?
Yep. That’s how I felt early this morning, before dawn.

Oh my, I had the strangest morning.

Wake Up, You Sleepyhead
Since I work from home, as a writer, I tend to wake up when the sun comes through my east-facing window. My health challenges require me to get plenty of rest. I try to be smart about my rest and recovery.

Sometimes, if I got to bed too late the night before — usually because I lost track of time while reading — I might roll over and grab a few more zzz’s. Gotta love Z’s. There’s one in my ham radio callsign, but I digress.
