Finding Our Calm In Troubled Times
Amid the insanity of our pandemic crisis, nature doesn’t notice.
Early Monday, during my morning routine, I was sitting in the glorious sunlight, looking outside and marveling at the sight. It was only minutes after sunrise, and I had my east-facing window cracked open just a bit — enough to feel the fresh, 42-degree F crisp air kiss my skin. I breathed it in as I listened to one of the first robins of spring serenade me with his song.
Mmmm. . . Gratitude.
Appreciating Nature
I watched the light breeze tickle my young peach tree — it’s third-year blooming. Once again, it’s exploding with bright pink blossoms against the backdrop of another brilliant turquoise sky — that morning. New Mexico is famous for its usually clear, intense blue skies.
It looked so serene, so peaceful, so. . . normal, for an early spring morning.
So normal.
Conflicting Thoughts
My mind wandered to the contrasting memories of newscasts I’d watched the night before.
