Navigating depression, feeling grateful for spring, & looking forward to finding my energy.

March 2020 has arrived. Time is sailing by at Warp 9. But then — things seemed to flip upside down, turning insanely crazy with a global pandemic newly upon us — requiring bizarre measures. And yet, in the midst of all this. . .
I’m so grateful for spring to be here.

Ok, I’m going to be vulnerably honest with you, so listen up.

Winter Sucks!
These past winter months have sucked for me. I experience something called “Seasonal Affective Disorder” (in addition to a few other health issues). In other words, the less-abundant sunlight in winter tends to drag me down into a depression. It’s commonly called “S.A.D.”

I fight it. I approach each autumn with a positive, even defiant attitude — convinced this will be the year I kick it to the curb. But then, sometime in October or November, I somehow get swallowed — the emotional quicksand sucks me down. Everything becomes so emotionally achy and soul-sucking — I just want to hibernate.
